This week has been an absolute blast. For the last 5 days, I’ve spent 24 hours a day with my band mates and my best friends, Loren Larsen, James Pemberton, Alessandro Improta, and Jared King. DateWeek, as we called it, was our last hurrah before the start of the fall semester and a wonderful opportunity for us to grow as musicians, gel together, set things up for the upcoming year, and of course, record in the studio. The following pictures contain car selfies from days 2-5.
It was a busy, tiring, sometimes stressful, always hilarious week with these guys. For the first time in my life, I feel like I am part of a legitimate musical group, and that I’m making a difference and accomplishing the things that I want to accomplish. There’s nothing in the whole world that makes me feel like this. It’s pretty legit.
We’ve started working on the Get it Started EP, which is slated for a fall release. It contains 5 tracks, 3 of which now have all of the instrumentation done, 1 of which is complete and sounds absolutely fantastic. We got a ton done.
We laid down tracks:
We took naps:
And we did Karaoke to wild applause.
It was fantastic. Even when things got rough.
Definitely keep an eye on us over the next few months. We’ve got some exciting new videos coming out, our first EP with some exciting collaborations on it, and of course, SHOWS! We will be playing with Empire Kings and Aly and the Riot Friday September 5th, 2014 at The Wall on BYU Campus. September 20th, we will be doing Battle of the Bands in Salt Lake In the Venue. You won’t want to miss it.
My name is Zach Collier, and I appreciate DateNight.
